Activate the Nation

Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 September 2026

Effective August 30, 2026

REVA Digital LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the Activate The Nation mobile application, the website at activatethenation.com, and related services (the “Service”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

REVA Digital LLC, Pilot Point, Texas 76258 USA. Contact: [email protected]. The data controller for personal information processed in connection with the Service is REVA Digital LLC.

Information you give us

  • Account: email or phone number, display name, and an optional photo, through Firebase Authentication — including basic profile details shared by Google or Apple when you sign in with them.
  • Profile: display name, an optional bio, your city and region, and the audience you choose during onboarding.
  • Content you create: direct and group messages, your private testimony, prayer requests, join requests, event RSVPs, and photos or videos you upload.
  • If you lead a group: the address where it meets, which you enter yourself and which is often your own home. It is shown only to members the leader has accepted — see “How we share information” — and it is the one address this app holds.
  • Communications: messages you send to our support team.

People you connect

When someone says yes to following Jesus, their name and an email address or phone number are recorded in the app so a follow-up invitation can be sent — usually typed by the person themselves on the connect form, or entered by the person who prayed with them when there is no signal or no phone to hand. That record exists to connect the new believer with the person who reached them.

Connection details. When someone connects with you through our forms we store the name and contact details you provided, whether you agreed to reminders, when you agreed, and the city (never a precise location) where the connection happened. We use this to deliver your connection link, to send the reminders you opted into, and for nothing else. We never sell this information.

Reminders are opt-in and are the only messages we send beyond the claim link itself. The box on the connect form is unticked by default; if it is not ticked, the only thing we ever send is the link you asked for. Where the details were typed in by the person who prayed with you rather than by you, no reminder is ever sent, because you were not there to agree to one.

If your details were recorded and you want them removed, email [email protected] and we will delete the record. You can also reply STOP to any text or use the unsubscribe link in any email.

The Bible reader and a REVA account

The Bible reader in this app is REVA Bible Companion’s, made by the same company, and the passages it shows are served from REVA’s systems. Reading needs no account of any kind: those requests carry an installation identifier and the passage being read, and nothing that identifies you.

Highlighting, bookmarking and taking notes do need an account — a REVA Bible Companion account, which is separate from your Activate The Nation account and entirely optional. You connect it in a browser window, where REVA asks your permission before anything is shared, and what you mark up is stored on that REVA account under REVA’s own privacy policy rather than here. Disconnect it at any time in Settings; reading still works afterwards.

If you connect one, we ask REVA which of your REVA friends also use this app so those people become connections here, and we can pass an invitation to the ones who do not. Only account identifiers travel — never your friends’ contact details — and none of it happens until you connect the account.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: app version, device model, OS version, language, timezone, IP address, crash logs, and basic usage events.
  • Analytics and crash diagnostics via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, tied to an installation identifier rather than directly to your email.
  • A push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can deliver notifications you have opted into.

The website

activatethenation.com is the public website for the Service. You can read it, share a link and follow an invitation without an account, and nothing on it asks you to sign in.

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It sets first-party cookies in your browser, named beginning \_ga, which last up to two years. What it reports is the page you viewed, the page that referred you there, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your device and browser type. Google processes this on our instructions. IP addresses are truncated before they are stored, and we have not turned on Google Signals, advertising features, or any link to an advertising profile.

Invitation and connection links — the addresses beginning activatethenation.com/link/ — carry a single-use token that belongs to one person. Those pages are kept out of search engines, and no analytics we run ever receives that token: what is counted is that an invitation page was opened, never which invitation it was.

The website is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to serve pages and to block malicious traffic, as our processor.

To opt out, use your browser’s cookie controls, or Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Nothing on the site depends on these cookies — every page, invitation and download works exactly the same with them blocked.

Permissions, and what we deliberately do not collect

  • Camera — used only to scan connect codes. No photo leaves your device from the scanner.
  • Location — optional and approximate only, used to show activations and groups near you, to suggest your city, and to record the city a connection happened in. The app requests reduced accuracy, never tracks you in the background, and never stores a coordinate: a city name is all that leaves your phone, and declining simply leaves the city blank.
  • Contacts — only if you ask the app to find people you already know, and never in the background. Your address book is read on your device and every phone number and email address in it is scrambled there (a one-way SHA-256 hash) before anything is sent, so we never receive a contact’s actual number or email and cannot reverse what we hold back into one. Alongside each scrambled value we do receive the name as it appears in your address book, so that a match can be shown to you as “Sarah” rather than as a row of characters — that name is visible only to you, and never to the person it belongs to. We use all of it for nothing but showing you which of your contacts already have an account. “Forget my contacts” in the app deletes every scrambled value and every name we hold for you.
  • We show no ads and run no advertising trackers, in the app or on the website, and we do not buy or sell personal information. The website’s tag manager is configured for measurement only; if that ever changes, this policy changes with it.

How we use information

To operate the Service — authenticate your account, deliver messages, run groups and events, store what you create, and send notifications you opted into. To keep the community safe — screen reports, enforce our Terms, and prevent abuse. To fix and improve the app through aggregate usage and crash data. And to comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

With other users, by your action: a message is visible to the people in that conversation; a group thread to that group’s members; your profile card to someone who scans your code. A group’s meeting address is visible only to accepted members. Your testimony is private to you and appears nowhere else.

With service providers who run the Service for us: application hosting, object storage and content delivery (Cloudflare), authentication, push delivery, in-app analytics and crash reporting (Firebase, a Google service), and website analytics (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, also Google). Each is bound by its own privacy policy and processes data on our instructions.

With REVA Bible Companion, our own Bible app, in the two ways described above: Bible passages are served from it whether or not you have an account there, and if you choose to connect a REVA account, what you highlight, bookmark or note in the reader is stored on that account.

For safety and legal compliance, when disclosure is required by law or necessary to enforce our Terms or protect people. In a business transfer, subject to the same protections. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Moderation

You can report any message or profile and block any user in the app. Reported content may be reviewed by our staff, and we may remove content or restrict accounts that violate our Community Guidelines.

Your rights and choices

You can access and correct your profile in the app. You can delete your account under Settings → Delete account, and you do not need to ask us first.

Deleting removes your sign-in, your profile, your testimony, your prayer requests, your notifications and push tokens, any scrambled address-book values we held for you, and the name and contact details of anyone you connected with. Three things deliberately remain: messages you already sent stay in the conversations you sent them to, shown as from “Deleted account”, because they are other people’s copy of a conversation they took part in; counts stay, with nothing identifying anyone attached to them; and abuse reports stay for as long as we need them to keep people safe. Encrypted backups roll off on their own schedule. The full list is on our account-deletion page, at activatethenation.com/delete-account, which also explains how to delete your account if you no longer have the app installed.

You may also request access, deletion, or a copy of your data by emailing [email protected] from the address on your account, or [email protected] for a deletion request. Residents of states and regions with comprehensive privacy laws have those rights too; we do not discriminate for exercising them.

Data retention and security

We keep personal information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete it; encrypted backups roll off on a schedule. Data is protected with TLS in transit, encryption at rest for stored media, scoped credentials, and least-privilege access. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you and the applicable authorities of any breach affecting your personal information as required by law.

Children

The Service is for users 13 and older (16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under those ages; if you believe a child has provided it, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers and changes

The Service is operated from the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. We may update this policy; material changes will be announced in the app or by email, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
